Biography

Ortiz is a postdoctoral research associate in the Institute of Human Origins at ASU. Her research interests include paleoanthropology, hominoid evolution, dental anthropology, growth and development, life history evolution, Asian apes, modern human origins, peopling of the New World, and virtual anthropology. She has conducted research in Peru, England, France, Germany, Tanzania, and South Africa.
